Save Money And Reduce Climate Change

With reports that the polar ice caps are dwindling away and climate change is wreaking havoc with our weather patterns, it has become increasingly obvious that we must all take steps to decrease global warming and our dependence on fossil fuels.  The increases in world population and industrialization mean that our energy needs will continue to expand, so it is imperative that we look to other, clean sources for our energy supplies.

Thankfully, there is an ever-increasing number of responsible people adopting energy-efficient principles and the use of renewable energy sources in their homes.  The benefits of being pro-active in this area are many, both on a personal level and also for the wider community.

  • By saving energy, or using renewable energy sources, you’ll save money on energy bills
  • By using less energy produced from fossil fuels, you will also cut your greenhouse gas emissions
  • Each tonne of greenhouse gas avoided will save several hundred dollars depending on the type of energy used (exact savings will depend on the price you pay for each type of energy)
  • More money can be saved by cutting consumption of other products and services, the manufacture of which generates greenhouse gases, such as water, paper, metals, glass and plastics
  • For every kWh of energy you generate from renewable sources, such as the sun, the wind, or water, you reduce pollution by almost 1kg of CO2
  • An average household can save several tonnes of greenhouse gas and hundreds of dollars each year
